Updated August 16 - British game industry legend Peter Molyneux and music game masters Alex Rigopulos and Keiichi Yano will be guest starring at the GAMEHOTEL BOSS SUITE on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2009, at gamescom Cologne. GAMEHOTEL is an innovative lifestyle event series celebrating interactive entertainment. Following its successful shows in Paris, California and Zurich, GAMEHOTEL launches a new event in Germany to provoke an electrifying mix of fun, style, and entertaining discourse.

Summer night rooftop extravaganza
In the long summer night before the gamescom opening, the penthouse of the futuristic Microsoft building overlooking Cologne‘s Rheinau harbor transforms into the GAMEHOTEL BOSS SUITE. GAMEHOTEL director Bruno Beusch hosts a talk-show extravaganza and rooftop party featuring a roster of heavy hitters from the global game industry.

Front and center will be British game industry legend Peter Molyneux, creative director of Microsoft Game Studios. He will be joined by Alex Rigopulos, the CEO of Harmonix and mastermind behind the upcoming The Beatles Rock Band game; as well as Keiichi Yano, creator of Lips and cult music game Gitaroo-man. Other show guests include Petri Purho of Crayon Physics Deluxe fame, one of the most promising young designers fueling the gaming scene with fresh ideas; Matias Myllyrinne, managing director of Alan Wake developer Remedy; Patrice Desilets, Assassins Creed's creative director; and Steven Poole, long-time columnist at Edge Magazine, and author of the seminal book "Trigger Happy."




Boss Battle: Future of interactive entertainment
Expect insightful anecdotes, entertaining previews, sharp responses, and great fun as these luminaries share their thoughts while celebrating today’s and tomorrow’s games. Among the show‘s many highlights is the GAMEHOTEL Boss Battle: The merciless multi-round contest will put the star guests’ creative power to a final test, bringing magician’s skills into play, as well as transport visitors to a time-traveling journey, courtesy of an exceptional music-making device.
