Packed with ideas, style, and a whole lot of fun, this exuberant live event with a pop cultural spin presents some of the hottest game creators from Japan, the US, and Europe, and offers wide-ranging access to the global phenomenon that is interactive entertainment. Showcasing the leading creative minds in the game industry, the GAMEHOTEL SHOW is an inspiring journey into the future of interactive entertainment.

Full of exciting live action and fun, the GAMEHOTEL SHOW features exclusive game previews, penetrating talks, and a new set of GAMEHOTEL’s popular specials, such as the light-hearted GAMEHOTEL DEATHMATCH contest and the ambitious GAMEHOTEL REPLAY series. Among the many other highlights: The unique REZ :: LUMINES :: PARTY.

LINEUP
For the first GAMEHOTEL edition in German-speaking Europe the event organizers have again handpicked a roster of high-profile game designers who count among the key voices in the constant quest for innovation and creativity in interactive entertainment

TETSUYA MIZUGUCHI, founder and Chief Creative Officer of Japanese developer Q Entertainment, is one of the game industry's super stars. The celebrated creator of the ground-breaking musical shooter Rez presents his Xbox 360 adventure title Ninety-Nine Nights, as well as the Live Arcade version of his stylish and wildly popular puzzle game Lumines. In addition, he will also talk about the upcoming Gunpey project being developed in honor of Game Boy inventor Gunpey Yokoi, and will explain how he gets his inspiration from sources as diverse as the media coverage of 9/11, Russian painter Kandinsky, or the international club scene.

Legendary British developer, PETER MOLYNEUX, founder and CEO of Lionhead Studios, is one of the most brilliant and renowned game designers. Known as the inventor of the god game genre, Molyneux has secured his place in computer game history with innovative and successful titles such as Populous, Black & White, and Fable. In 2005, Molyneux was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his services to the computer games industry. Check in at GAMEHOTEL to hear Peter talk about his latest projects and find out what is currently on his radar.

ALEX RIGOPULOS, founder and CEO of leading Boston-based music game developer Harmonix, is the creative mastermind behind the multi-award winning hit game Guitar Hero, which puts the player at center stage with his or her very own rock band. For his first appearance in German-speaking Europe, the MIT graduate will reveal an exclusive GAMEHOTEL-Guitar Hero track in his demo of the follow up to Guitar Hero. In addition, he will also spotlight Harmonix' creative ambition by demonstrating an infectiously entertaining Karaoke game in which the player has to sing and perform dance steps at the same time.

MASAYA MATSUURA, founder and president of Tokyo-based game developer NanaOn-Sha and a celebrated musician in the nineties, is one of the most respected personalities in the game industry. This master of eccentric excellence is dedicated to stretching the elastic boundaries of the games medium, from ground-breaking PaRappa the Rapper to the highly original Vib Ribbon and all the way to his latest tour de force Mojibribon, where personal email messages blend seamlessly with Japanese calligraphy and rap rhythms. At GAMEHOTEL Matsuura-san presents his latest multi-platform title and spoils the audience with one of his rare live performances.

MORE HIGHLIGHTS
Other GAMEHOTEL SHOW highlights include a new edition of the highly entertaining GAMEHOTEL DEATHMATCH series, dedicated to testing the game designers' creative power. At last year's edition, a Japanese all-star team composed of Mizuguchi- san and Takahashi-san (Katamari Damacy) easily defeated the courageous Parisian Audience all-star team in an exhilarating game character cake decoration contest. This time, the developers and their über-motivated challengers from the audience will need to activate an entirely different skill set to take home the trophy.

The GAMEHOTEL POP CULTURE QUIZ will offer even more great live action. This light-hearted contest will once again test both the audience's pop-savviness and their hand-eye coordination. The lucky winner will go home with a Limited Edition GAMEHOTEL Xbox 360 console.

REZ :: LUMINES :: PARTY
Following the GAMEHOTEL SHOW there will be a vibrant party held in honor of Japanese game creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Released five years ago, his seminal musical shooter Rez was partly inspired by the Streetparade, Zurich’s gigantic annual event. Playing live on a big screen in one of Europe's most thriving club venues, Mizuguchi-san will celebrate the creative power that is unleashed through the collision of video games and other sectors of pop culture.

After midnight, DJs and VJs Stu/Drop da bomb, Gleichschritt, 2eclectic, Colordj, and Phantomvj will take the wheel until the wee hours of the morning.
